WHERE TO FIND INSPIRATION
I stare at the blank computer screen,
My hands on the keys;
A jumble of ideas jumping in my head,
Nothing emerges.
I look around the room for stimulation
Will it come from the Aboriginal painting
Or the little stuffed koalas fastened to my lamp?
My thoughts bounce up and down
Like a little rubber ball,
Nothing emerges.
Your face smiles at me
From so long ago
When we were young
Ready to conquer the world.
Still nothing.
I close the top of the computer
Walk away
Come back
Open the darned thing
Touch the keys
And this is what emerges.
But a jumble of ideas
Is still jumping in my head!
